Here are the top three stories today in Avon-Avon Lake:

1. Mark your calendars for the Bare Bone Big Splash Dog Swim event and support Love-A-Stray Dog Division Non-Profit Rescue. The event will take place on Saturday, September 1oth from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Avon Lake municipal pool. For online registration click here. There will be food trucks and dog treats and lots of swim time for your pooches. Hope to see you there! (City of Avon Lake, OH via Facebook)
2. The girls soccer team travels to Strongsville tonight for a 7 p.m. start. Come out and support the Eagles and wear red as the Strongsville Mustangs dedicate the match and retire the jersey of Allyson Sidloski. 3. Although the summer is coming to an end that doesn't have to mean the end of delicious ice cream at Handel’s Ice Cream in Avon. The walk-in store will remain open, even during the winter months, so, ice creamaholics don't fret. There will be plenty of ice cream sundaes made just how you like them all winter long.
