Driver Pleads Guilty To Hitting Bicyclist In Avon Lake
A 23-year-old woman pleaded guilty to negligent assault and other charges this week.
AVON LAKE, OH — A woman accused of hitting a bicyclist in Avon Lake and then driving away pleaded guilty to negligent assault on Thursday.
Allison Spoerl, 23, hit a woman bicycling down Lake Road in May 2019. The cyclist had to be flown to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious injuries, though she later recovered.
Spoerl was captured by police two days after the accident. On Thursday, she pleaded guilty to negligent assault, leaving the scene of an accident, tampering with evidence and falsification, according to Cleveland 19.

She will be sentenced on Nov. 1 in the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas.
