Athletic director Erich Frombach advised earlier this week for fans to get there earlier, as Tiffin Columbian fans have a short ride and may be looking to spill over into Avon's bleachers. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
Another incentive to get there early is parking. There are only 200 spots available at Stamm Elementary School (1038 Miller St.), adjacent to the visitor bleachers. Parking there is $3. Free parking is available at Fremont Ross High School, three blocks away.
Residents on side streets may be offering parking for a fee, but you do so at your own risk, the athletic office said.
According to the Mapquest directions, from the intersection of Detroit and Center Roads, the trip is 65.47 miles and will take one hour, four minutes. If you're taking the Ohio Turnpike, tolls from the 90/80 merge just past Elyria to the state route 53 exit in Fremont start at $2.25 with EZ-Pass and $3.25 without EZ-Pass.
Dress warm and don't forget your coat! Tonight's going to be windy in Fremont, with temperatures falling through the 40s at kickoff and could be in the 30s by the end of the game not factoring in wind chill.
