Earthquake Rattles Eastern United States

Did you feel it?

A shook up the eastern United States Tuesday afternoon.

The earthquake was centered about 25 miles east of Charlottesville, Virginia. It was felt in the northeast, where buildings all around the were evacuated. The Pentagon, White House and many other government buildings in Washington were also evacuated.

People in northeast Ohio also felt it. Fairlawn-Bath Patch reported that firefighters at a station in Bath Township noticed swaying blinds and computer screens.

The Plain Dealer reported that people in the press box at Progressive Field for Tuesday afternoon's Cleveland Indians game reported feeling swaying. Also, people in downtown Cleveland near the filming of the "Avengers" movie reported feeling tremors.
