The Annual Christmas Luncheon for members of the Avon Lake Historical Society scheduled for December was canceled due to cold weather and snow and has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. in The Gallery Room of the Avon Lake Public Library. It is now the “Valentine’s Luncheon” and will be catered by Smith’s Catering of Avon. All members are welcome. The cost to non-members is $7 per person.
The Society is deeply saddened by the death of past president John Robertson. John served as president for 6 years and worked very hard to build up the group’s membership and to get a pictorial book on the History of Avon Lake published with the help of the Avon Lake Library. Thoughts and prayers go out to John’s family.
Officers for the 2011 year are: President, Tony Abram; Vice president, Jo ScarpittiHamilton; Historian, Nancy Abram. The positions of secretary and treasurer are open for election of interested members. Discussion on this will be held after the luncheon.
