The Avon Lions will be sponsoring a "Night for Sight" with the Lake Erie Crushers on June 2, at 7:05 p.m.
The Cleveland Scrappers softball team will do a quick demonstration of beep baseball. Beep-ball allows vision impaired athletes to participate in an organized sport despite their disability. A sighted pitcher throws a ball that emits a beeping noise that allows the batter to judge when to swing the bat. The bases consist of beacons that emit seperate distinct beeps so the batter can determine which way to run.
The Scrappers have are based in Cleveland and have even hosted the Beep-ball World Series in past years. As with any worthy event, costs are rising, equipment, transportation, and umpires all make running the team difficult.

In addition to the game, the Lions will have their Lion truck at the front gate of the stadium to collect used eyeglasses. The eyeglasses are collected, cleaned, and sent to countries to help combat childhood blindness. The Lions have been dubbed"Knights of the Blind" by Hellen Keller.
