  1. A cat and dog perished in an apartment fire Monday in Avon Lake at the Village at the Green Apartments located at 264 Moore Road. Four people were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation injuries. It is believed that the fire, which broke out shortly after noon on Monday, started in the kitchen of one of the apartments. Six families have been displaced due to the fire. They are receiving assistance from the Red Cross and reportedly all the people who were taken to the hospital are in stable condition. (Cleveland 19 News)
