Five Things You Need to Know About Friday's Big Football Game
Where to go, how to get tickets, how to rock the purple and gold, we've got you covered!

- The (12-1) play the Aurora Greenmen (12-1) in the OHSAA Division II state football semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Parma. The winner advances to the state championship game Friday, Dec. 2, at Massilon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.
- Advance tickets are $8, $1.20 of which goes to Avon High School. They will be on sale at the high school athletic office from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. After that, tickets at the gate are $10. Gates open at 6 p.m. No passes will be accepted.
- Friday's game will be played at Byers Field in Parma. According to directions from Mapquest, Byers Field is 21.35 miles from the intersection of Detroit and Center Roads, and a 33-minute drive. Solon Patch editor Chris Mazzolini, who covered a game earlier this year at Byers Field, warns that traffic back-ups en route to the stadium can get pretty hairy.
- The game is being played on Black Friday and the stadium is near Parmatown Mall, which could mess up not only traffic but parking. The Avon High athletic office advised fans that there are two lots near the stadium where parking is $3. Fans often park at nearby store parking lots, but Black Friday could mean those lots won't have as many parking spots available. So leave early and plan to tailgate.
- Limited-edition state semifinal t-shirts will be available for sale at the high school starting Tuesday afternoon. Only 200 are available. The shirts cost $12. You can also get Avon High gear, from hair ribbons to earrings to sweatshirts to hats, at  Randall's Team Shop and Custom Clothing in Avon Lake.
