Flood Watch in Effect Through Tuesday Night

We could get two inches of rain by the time this is over.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Lorain County.

The flood watch runs through Tuesday night, and is also in effect for north central and northwestern Ohio.

Low pressure is expected to develop over the Tennessee Valley on Monday and will begin moving north towards us overnight. The system is expected move over northern Ohio Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Rainfall totals are forecast to be between 1.5 and 2 inches, with higher localized totals.

Recent rains have saturated the ground, the National Weather Service said, and additional rains could mean river and creek flooding, as well as flooding of low-lying areas.

Keep an eye on your basements. It may be a good idea to get as much up off the floor as possible.
