Here are the top stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:
- It's that time of year again, time for the Second Avon Lake Annual Ducks-n-Donuts Derby, which will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at the Ellen Trivanovich Aquatic Center. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Registrants will pick up their ducks from the check-in station and have the opportunity to get all their ducks in a row by writing their assigned number on their bottoms. Ducks will then be collected by recreation staff in preparation of their big splash. Race heats start promptly at 9 a.m. when recreation staff pour the ducks into the lazy river. Winners from each qualifying heat will earn a spot in the championship race. Championship racers will have a chance to swim away with up to (4) 2023 pool season passes! Donuts will be provided by Giant Eagle, while supplies last. Pricing for ducks: 1 Lame Duck $2, 6 duck Quack Pack $10, 13 ducks Quacker's Dozen $20. According to Cleveland.com, "The Club is a non-profit organization based in Northeast Ohio for home and professional haunters and vendors, as well as Halloween enthusiasts, and horror fans. Guests at the event will have the opportunity to meet Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick) from the 1960s television show, The Munsters, and check out the Munsters’ Koach.
