Gingerbread Houses Help Light Up Avon

Winners from the gingerbread contest.

Creativity was the norm at this year's gingerbread house contest featured during Avon's Candlelite Walk weekend.

The houses, on display at the Avon Historical Society on the corner of Detroit and 611, were open to the public for review.

A winner was announced Dec. 1.

First place was awared to Elizabeth Regas who created a "gingerbread barn" complete with a horse head seen in a barn stall. Second place, for a gingerbread village, went to Marissa Lubowicz and third place to Lucy Greaney's house, with a peppermint field.
