Crushers just miss sweep of Washington Wild Things

The lost to the Washington Wild Things, 5-4, in 11 innings Tuesday in Washington, Pa.

The loss prevented the Crushers from completing a series sweep of the Wild Things.

Jereme Milons singled in a run, Andrew Davis had an RBI double and Jason Taylor had an RBI single in the first inning to give the Crushers an early 3-0 lead, the team reported.

Chris Luick had RBI singles in the second and sixth innings.

Washington rallied from a 4-1 deficit, scoring one run in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings to tie the game. Tim Battle hit a solo home run off Robert Wendzicki (0-2) to give the Wild Thngs the win.

The Crushers (28-31) return home Wednesday to open a three-game series against the Joliet Slammers. Josh Roberts (6-3, 3.59 earned run average) gets the start for the Crushers. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
