I-90 Reopened After Interchange Construction Worker Killed
Westbound I-90 was closed between Crocker Basset and SR 83.

An interchange construction worker struck by an SUV on I-90 this morning has died, according to the Avon Fire Department.
Lt. Eric Dudziak confirmed the 63-year old construction worker was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name has not yet been released.

project manager Don Damyanic said the man struck was working on the new interchange at Lear-Nagle road, which is expected to open later this year.
“I believe he was working on the bridge,” Dudziak said.

The man was struck at approximately 9:15 a.m. and taken to the hospital.
Dudziak said two vehicles were involved.
“One hit the other,” he said. One of the vehicles involved was pushed into the construction zone, striking the worker.
All westbound lanes between Crocker Road/Bassett Road exit and Route 83 were closed until shortly after 2 p.m. On Twitter, reports were posting that Detroit Road heading into Avon from Westlake was completely backed up.
