1. You are invited to join Mayor Greg Zilka who will be presenting a State of the City Address at the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club meeting tonight at 7 p.m, at the Avon Lake Public Library. This event is open to the public. Hope to see you there! (City of Avon Lake, OH via Facebook)
2. Avon Lake City Schools have named Joelle Magyar as the next superintendent. The Avon Lake City Schools Board of Education (BOE) voted unanimously on Monday, March 27 to award a five-year administrative contract to Magyar, which will begin on August 1. 3. Seventeen-year-old Adam Write, an Avon Lake Boy Scout, is in process of earning the rank of Eagle Scout. His project is to revamp the basement of the historic Peter Miller House Museum in Avon Lake’s Miller Road Park. According to cleveland.com, "he scraped walls, painted and sorted through lots of boxes [in an effort to help to preserve history]." (cleveland.com)
