Know Alzheimer's Signs Before Holiday Gatherings

Keep an eye on parents and other loved ones while you're together over the holidays.

Another holiday season has arrived.

That means you are another year older. And so are your parents, your grandparents and other older relatives.

Whether you see your family often or just a few times a year, you may be noticing that they aren't quite how they used to be in some ways.

It's not a pleasant holiday subject, but with all the stuff going on over the next week, it's a good time to observe your parents or other relatives for signs of Alzheimer's Disease.

The Alzheimer's Association Cleveland Area Chapter offers a list of ten warning signs of Alzheimer's. With the list, they also give examples of what is just normal aging. Check the attached PDF for the list and more information.

Some of the warning signs include decreased or poor judgment, personality and mood changes, and having trouble doing familiar things like cooking recipes they regularly make or paying bills on time.
