Leaf Pick-Up Still Going On

There's time to do one last raking!

As you get your holiday lights and yard decorations up, you can do one last yard clean-up before winter.

Jerry Plas, director of for the City of Avon, said pick-ups of leaves and yard debris are still going on. A chipper was going around the city on Tuesday, Plas said, tackling branches left curbside.

With most of the leaves gone for a while, the pick-up is being done on an as-needed basis, Plas said.

"If we see a pile (of leaves) on our daily rounds, we make a note of it and send the truck out," Plas said.

Plas said he expects the last of the pick-ups to be done in the next two weeks.

If you do have a last raking to do, remember to keep the leaves off the street and don't block storm drains.
