Long-Distance Madison Was Tossed Out and Abandoned

Indoor cat dumped outside after owners move away

The husband of a Love-A-Stray supporter was working on a home in Madison the day after Christmas when he saw a female spotted calico-colored cat in a neighboring yard.

He found out from the owner of the home he was working on that the neighbors had just moved out and had tossed the cat, who had been an indoor cat, out in the yard before leaving.

The husband brought the cat all the way back to Love-A-Stray's Avon shelter from Madison, which is in Lake County. Shelter volunteers decided to name her after the town from where she was rescued.

Mellow Madison enjoys being around people, and likes being held and petted. Like all Love-A-Stray cats up for adoption, she's fixed and up-to-date on her shots.

If you're interested in Madison, or would like to see other cats and kittens available for adoption, contact Love-A-Stray through its website. You can also donate money to help cover the costs of spaying/neutering cats, and health care often needed by abandoned cats.
