2. According to Cleveland.com, "Avery Viancourt of Avon Lake High came back the football field this season with a vengeance, healthier and bigger after missing some time last season. Viancourt led Avon Lake’s defense to a shutout of Strongsville with a scoop and score off a blocked punt in their 38-0 road win. The Shoremen held Strongsville to 68 yards passing and its leading rushers to a combined 58 yards." (cleveland.com)
3. New high-visibility crosswalks and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) will be installed by the city of Avon Lake, working in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to increase pedestrian safety. According to the Town of Avon Lake website, "the curb ramps that do not meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and adjacent sidewalks will be replaced. These improvements will be made at the Walker Road/Armour Road and Lear Road/Creekside Drive intersections. The project will consist of removing and replacing non-compliant curb ramps and adjacent sidewalks and installing pavement markings and pedestrian signals. Traffic will be maintained in both directions during all phases of construction with the assistance of a flagger. All intersections will remain open with minimal interruptions to traffic. Construction is set to begin in June of 2023. (Avon Lake)
