Here are the top three stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

1. Though the economy has taken a tumble following the pandemic, don’t let that deter you. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, opportunities are still out there. 2. Summer is coming to an end which means the pool is closing. Soak up the remaining days of the summer season now. According to cleveland.com., the last day for swimming at the Avon Aquatic Facility will be September 5 (Labor Day). For pool hours this weekend, go to avonpool.com/pool-hours." (cleveland.com)
3. Avon beat Medina this week 43-42. They will be playing Friday vs. No. 7 Glenville. According to cleveland.com, "in two weeks and just four-and-a-half quarters, Avon has scored 50 points. The Eagles put up enough fireworks to make up for lost time with their 7-0 win in Florida against Stratford (S.C.), which opted not to continue after storms washed their scheduled matchup on the first Friday of the season. The Eagles survived their first full game against one of the area’s top teams and more await. They have Glenville at home this week before visiting rival Avon Lake to open the Southwestern Conference schedule." (cleveland.com)
