Moms Talk: The Casey Anthony Trial

Did you find yourself following the case?

Monday's TV news and talk shows were dominated by the acquittal of Florida mother Casey Anthony on the charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, in 2008.

It was cold comfort to those convinced of her guilt that Anthony was convicted of four counts of misleading law enforcement. She is to be sentenced on those charges Thursday and, because she has been in jail since her 2008 arrest, may go free with time served.

Shock and anger were the dominant emotions in post-trial talk shows, led by the sensationalizer-in-chief Nancy Grace.

Let's talk about a parent's view of the Casey Anthony trial, crime and punishment. Did you follow it closely, or even occasionally? Was your Facebook page filled with friends' "tributes" to Caylee, or urgings to turn on your porch light Tuesday night to honor the girl?

Having children can change how you view the world. Do you find yourself becoming quicker to judge, or more empathetic, or sometimes both? Have your views on crime and the law changed?
