🌱Some of Moore Road Closed To Traffic + Break-Ins At Burn Boot Camp

Here are the top stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

1. In the past six months, Burn Boot Camp in Avon Lake has had three car break-ins. The latest one was on Thursday, according to Cleveland 19 News. The station asked the Avon Police Chief if this string of break-ins was the start of a bigger problem for the city. "All three break-ins were similar, the suspect pulled in the Avon Lake Towne Center early in the morning and broke into cars taking anything they could. It comes in waves and some of it is unpredictable, last year we had an increase in vehicle thefts,” said Chief Vince Molmar to 19 News." (Cleveland 19 News).
2. Moore Road work will continue the week of July 18 and Moore Road will be closed to northbound traffic, south of Walker Road to Pin Oak Parkway. According to a post from the City of Avon on its Facebook page, "Southbound traffic is using the northbound lane. This project will continue through late fall. Please seek an alternate route, and avoid the area. Route 83/Avon Belden Road at Avon Lake High School Road is closed at the culvert in front of the Avon Lake High School for culvert replacement. The Ohio Department of Transportation has informed the City that the end date will be delayed due to supply chain issues. Please seek an alternate route, and avoid the area." • Love-A-Stray Dog Division Non-Profit Rescue: "Skinny sad girl Harper came to us on June 24th, the first photo shown. Now she has gained 10.5 pounds, still needs to gain about 15 more pounds, but she is already like a different dog! Her fur is getting shiny and she is interested in in playing with toys. It feels so good to see these sad rescue dogs turning the corner! Harper is great with all people and other dogs. She is housebroken, needs training on lead but she is very smart and will learn fast!
