New Water Tower Will Be One of Largest in Ohio

Growing Avon will have two water towers to service city.

The growing city of Avon is looking to add a second, significantly larger water tower to the southern part of the city.

The new tower is expected to be more than four times the size of the current tower, enough for the current and future needs of the city. The current water tower on SR 83 near Detroit holds 750,000 gallons.

“The new elevated storage tank will be 3 million gallons and will be over 120 feet high,”City Engineer Rob Knopf said. “It is needed for future development throughout the city.  The other 750,000 tank will stay in service.  The new tank will be one of the largest in Ohio.”
