1. For the past 14 years, the Avon Lake Community Council has been sponsoring an event to acknowledge and recognize the great things members of our community are accomplishing. Each year residents are asked to nominate people in the community for Citizen of the Year, which honors a volunteer for outstanding achievements in the area of community service. In addition, residents are also asked to nominate projects for Project of the Year, to honor a project that merits community-wide recognition.
