Paul Fagan Strikes Out 12 to Help Give Crushers Big Win

Win over Traverse City widens lead for playoff spot

Paul Fagan struck out 12 batters in eight innings' work Thursday night, leading the to a 6-2 win over their Frontier League Eastern Division rival Traverse City Beach Bums in Traverse City, Mich.

The win gave the Crushers (42-38) a 1 1/2-game lead over the Beach Bums for the second and final playoff spot in the Eastern Division.

Fagan allowed four hits and one run while walking just two batters, the team reported. His record improves to 6-9 with a 4.20 earned run average.

Andrew Davis had two hits, including his 33rd double of the season, and two RBI to lead the Crushers. Jodam Rivera had three hits and an RBI. 

The Crushers return to Friday evening to open a three-game series against the Windy City Thunderbolts. Thomas Campbell (3-0, 2.60) is slated to start for the Crushers.
