Police Blotter: Vandals Destroy Trees

Someone took a saw to some trees at and destroyed almost $3,000 worth of them.

Manager Jay Kowalczyk told on Oct. 18 that the trees, all at least 100 feet from the nursery’s South Long Road entrance, were each cut about halfway through the trunks.

The destroyed trees were eight tri-color beech trees worth $200 each, five flowering dogwood worth $200 each and a carpinus worth $300.
