The video* of the misguided Castle Rock school bus driver punishing children by slamming on the brakes shows what happens to kids in buses short-stopping at 9 mph. Just imagine what happens when a school bus crashes at highway speeds and innocent children have no protective seat belts. Current Colorado’s and Ohio’s school bus safety features that don’t include seat belts are inadequate to protect children fully. According to the current incomplete “school bus” safety theory, children in crashes and sudden stops are meant to hit the seat back in front of them with their faces at high speed and accept whatever damage occurs. In the US, children are routinely killed and thousands injured in school bus crashes. Would you let your kids ride in cars without buckling up? WAKE UP OHIO! Start installing seat belts and let your Board of Education know that you don’t want them to gamble any more with the lives of children.
