1. Wine and food connoisseurs mark your calendars for the first Summer in Italy event, put on by the Avon Lake Friends of The Parks. The event will be held on July 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Folger home in Veterans Park. Join in on the journey, for a wine trip to Italy. Food will be provided by Gitta’s Table. Dessert will be provided by Amalu Home Bakery. Music will be provided by Hayden Grove of Hayden Grove Music. Tickets are $65 per person. 2. Though the economy has yet to fully recover from the impact of the pandemic, there are still local job opportunities available, as companies hire to address the demands of the new normal.
