1. Get out and get shopping because this year's Ohio Tax-Free Weekend dates are Friday, August 5 through Sunday, August 7. 2. This is clever, the Avon Athletic Boosters is asking that everyone 'SLIDE' into the new school year in a new pair of custom Avon Eagle Slides! Avon Athletic Boosters is holding the first-ever Pride Slide Fundraiser! The online store is open now through August 3t at https://avonslides.itemorder.com. Orders for the unique slides should be available for pick up at the end of September. The slides are available in adult and youth sizes. All proceeds support Avon Athletic Boosters. According to a Facebook post from the City of Avon Lake, "as of now, there is a new traffic pattern for Moore Road: Moore Road is now northbound traffic only between Pin Oak Parkway and Walker Road. It will be closed to southbound traffic in the construction area. Northbound traffic will be using the southbound lane. Please avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
