1. Taking her grief and turning it into something positive, Ashley Pease-Mitchell, a seventh-grade English and Language Arts teacher in Avon Lake, wrote a book about her experience losing her beloved dog Cash. The book, called, "Tails from Heaven" is out now. According to News 5 Cleveland, "Pease Mitchell will be donating profits from the book to the Golden Retrievers in Need Rescue Group. “I wanted to help anyone who has lost a dog feel hope for the future of their pups and themselves. … I believe this book will help adults and kids heal after losing a dog,” she said. 2. It's almost Father's Day. Here is a list of eight fun things to do in the area with Dad this year. What are your plans? (Clevelandmagazine.com)
3. Plan accordingly! There is going to be a lot of construction going on this summer around the schools in Avon Lake and that means detours, delays and road closures. At the Avon Lake High School right now there is a full closure of South drives/lots for asphalting. Please use North entrances for high school and Board of Education. Beginning June 13, there will be a closure of Route 83 at Heider Creek in front of ALHS (for at least the next 60 days as construction is always weather dependent).
