A strong cold front will move across the area on Thursday. That means rain will be changing over to snow in the evening. Falling temperatures also mean wet roads could begin to freeze, especially on bridges.

Temperatures will fall to a low of around 26 Thursday night, and two to four inches of snow is expected overnight. Avon could get one to two inches of snow on Friday, as the high temperature will only be 28 degrees.
Wind will be an issue, blowing between 25 and 35 miles an hour Thursday night and Friday, with gusts Friday going over 40 miles an hour. That could mean blowing and drifting snow, whiteout conditions on the roads, and dangerous wind chills.
