Westlake Pole Fire Knocks Out Power to Parts of Avon
Approximately 8,500 affected; power should be fully restored soon.
UPDATE: Nov. 13- Power from this outage has been fully restored.
A pole fire on top of a power line resulted in power loss to 8,500 on the northwest portion of Cleveland Nov. 12.
Mark Durbin, spokesperson for FirstEnergy said just after 11:45 a.m., a fire on a pole in Westlake affected a subtransmission line, leaving 8,500 FirstEnergy customers without power in Avon, North Ridgeville, North Olmsted and Westlake. By 2 p.m. power was restored to most structures affected.

“We’re rerouting power to restore energy,” Durbin said.
Durbin said FirstEnergy expected the power to be fully restored by 2:30 p.m.
