Ahuja Medical Center Gets New Chief Operating Officer
The University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center added a new executive to its leadership team this week.

BEACHWOOD, OH — The Ahuja Medical Center has a new chief operating officer.
Percival I. Kane, Jr. will begin his new appointment on Jan. 10, 2022. The hospital system said he is responsible for improve the hospital's value to the community, overseeing its growth and market share, and improving its services.
“We are confident that Percival’s robust health care leadership experience will help to advance our mission, vision and values at University Hospitals,” said Alan Papa, chief operating officer, UH East Market. “Our leadership team is looking forward to working with him as we embark on the major next chapter in the future of the hospital with our expansion project.”

He will also lead the Phase 2 expansion project, a $236.1 million development. The project should bring hundreds of jobs into the community, University Hospitals said, including staff for a new neonatal intensive care unit, the largest sports rehab complex in the region, a comprehensive breast health center, a new ambulatory surgical center and an expanded emergency department.
Kane was previously chief operating officer at Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital. He oversaw a growth in admissions, surgical volume, emergency department visits and operating room optimization.
