BEACHWOOD, OH — Out with the old and in with the new! The City of Beachwood has launched a new and improved app to replace its previous one.
Available now for iOS and Android, the city’s original mobile app is scheduled to be removed from both app sources on New Year’s Day due to issues with the back-end architecture. The new apps are available here:
• iOS Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/...
• Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/...

“We knew we only had until December 31, 2021 to complete the mobile app design and coding, so when I caught COVID-19 on December 16, I was definitely concerned that we might not make the deadline. Instead, from isolation, we completed the beta testing and necessary communications with our app developer. Thank goodness for Wi-Fi,” said Lynn B. Johnson, communications coordinator for the City of Beachwood and mobile app project manager.
The new mobile app features a streamlined design and includes immediate access to Beachwood’s new TextMyGov function, city departments, activity registration, government updates and more. The app was coded by CivicPlus.

“Lynn and I evaluated many municipal apps and our goal was to give our residents and businesses a mobile app with only what they need,” said Mayor Martin S. Horwitz. “I am pleased that we have completed this project in time for the new year.”
