Beachwood Swears-In New Assistant Law Director

Matthew Kurz will start work Nov. 29.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Matthew A. Kurz is Beachwood's new assistant law director and associate counsel.

Kurz' first day will be Nov. 29. He was sworn-in by Law Director L. Stewart Hastings at Monday's City Council meeting.

“We received more than 50 applications for the position and interviewed about 13 of the applicants. Mr. Kurz stood out from the group. Among his very impressive accomplishments, in addition to being Managing Editor of the Cleveland-Marshall Journal of Law & Health and serving as a peer advisor and student mentor, he was selected by his legal writing professor as a tutor to assist other students with their coursework. This showed me the confidence that the law school had in him from an early point," Hastings said in a statement.
