'Tis the Season for Shoplifting: Beachwood Police Blotter

Police were busy this week dealing with people trying to do their holiday shopping without paying for the merchandise.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Perhaps it's just the holiday season, but shoplifting dominates the police blotter this week in Beachwood.

Shoplifting, Dec. 19 — an unknown woman stole several items of clothing from The Buckle at 26300 Cedar Rd. While fleeing the scene, the suspect knocked an employee to the ground causing injury.

Shoplifting, Dec. 19 — Police responded to a call from the Gucci Store inside Saks 5th Avenue at 26100 Cedar Rd. for a theft report. An unidentified female selected and concealed a Gucci handbag valued at $1,996.00 and exited the store without paying for the handbag.

Warrant, Dec 19th — Male was arrested on Harvard Rd. and Green Rd. for a License Forfeiture Suspension stemming from a traffic stop for headlights on motor vehicles. Male also had a warrant out of the Fairlawn police department.

Driving Under Suspension, Dec. 20 — An adult female was stopped for driving with fictitious plates and lied about her identity to officers and was found to be under suspension. She also has multiple felony warrants for her arrest with the Twinsburg police department.

Shoplifting, Dec. 20 — Police rerespoded to Pink inside Beachwood Place Mall at 26300 Cedar Rd. for a theft in progress. Two adult females were arrested for stealing merchandise valued at $132.85.

Shoplifting, Dec. 20 — A male was arrested for theft at Marshall's Department Store for stealing merchandise worth a total of $70.95.

Shoplifting, Dec. 20 — An adult female and a juvenile female were arrested at Sephora for theft of cosmetic items valued at $339.00. The adult was also charged with receiving stolen property and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

Warrant, Dec. 22 — Police responded to 1300 Ontario Street, the Cleveland Police Jail, to arrest an adult male on an active bench warrant. The male was taken into custody and conveyed to the city jail without incident.

Shoplifting, Dec. 22 — An adult male was arrested after he stole a pair of sweatpants from Marshall's Department Store on Chagrin Blvd. valued at $12.99. He was also charged with theft from Giant Eagle for stealing food items worth $29.67.
