'Took Calls At All Hours To Help Students': Beachwood Hero

BEACHWOOD, OH — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Mary Martin who nominated Laura Preston, an amazing teacher in Beachwood.

Reason for recognition: Laura is extremely dedicated to her students! When the schools had to close due to safety concerns, she delivered packets to her students' homes. She took calls at all hours so no one would be left behind, no matter what tech they have at home!
