Umbrellas for Peace, Back to School and Mall Rezoning: All Happening This Week

Five things happening in Beachwood this week that you won't want to miss.

1. This week is the last week to visit the Umbrellas for Peace exhibit at the Beachwood Community Center Art Gallery. The exhibit concludes Aug. 3. For more details check out the city's page on the art gallery.   

2. A request to change the zoning to accommodate Beachwood Place Mall expansion got its first reading from city council last week and this Tuesday July 30, the Planning and Zoning Commission will begin discussing the proposed change. For more details on the expansion, the city has a special page on its website with the latest. 

3. Beachwood Recreation Community Theater presents Enchantment, Trust & Fairy Dust at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, and 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the Beachwood Middle School. Admission is free. 

4. Playmakers Youth Theater will perform Children of Eden at the Mandel Jewish Community Center at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 and 2 p.m. on Aug. 4. Tickets available at the door, $8 for members, $10 for the public.

5. Help your preschooler (ages 4-6) get ready for Kindergarten with some help from our friends at the Beachwood Public Library at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 1. Registration is required.
