Winter Storm In Beachwood: 'Do Not Drive,' Police Warn Residents

Beachwood police said even the city's snow plows are struggling to keep up with Monday's heavy snowfall.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Much of northern Ohio is grappling with heavy snowfall and gusty winds Monday morning, including Beachwood.

"Do no drive unless you absolutely have to. Road conditions are poor and there are multiple traffic crashes on and off the highways," Beachwood police said on social media. The department added that residents should rescheduled any appointments they can.

Parts of Cuyahoga County received between 8 and 12 inches of snow between Sunday night and Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Multiple communities, including Beachwood, have issued snow parking bans and urged residents to stay home and avoid traveling due to poor road conditions.

"Even Beachwood Service crews are having a hard time keeping up and we all know how good they are with plowing our roads!" the Beachwood police department said on social media.
