Airborne Metal Shelf Damages Car on Interstate 77

A RIchfield woman struck piece of metal — which turned out to be a piece of a large shelf — as she drove on the highway last week.

A Richfield woman told police that while she was driving south on Interstate 77, she struck a piece of metal grating at around 5:30 p.m. May 2.

As she continued, another piece of grating “flew over the vehicle,” causing damage to the hood of the car.

She was not injured during the incident.
