Voters in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School DistrictĀ passed aĀ 7.4-mill renewal levy on the ballotĀ on Tuesday.
TheĀ renewal levyĀ ā known on the ballot as Issue 12 ā will continue to cost the owner of a $100,000 home $12.66 per month, district Treasurer Rick Berdine said.

The levy was first passed in 1988 and brings in about $4.8 million a year. Passage of the renewal would not raise taxes, but keep taxes at the current level.
This renewal levy is being placed on the ballot as a continuing levy.

āIt represents 11 percent of our current operating budget,ā Berdine recentlyĀ told Brecksville Patch. āNot passing this renewal levy to continue providing the same level of resources to the district (would have been) devastating to the day-to-day operations of everyĀ school in our district.ā
Superintendent Scot Prebles couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
