ā€œWe’re already thinking about leaf collection,ā€ said Ron Wiedig, the city’s service director.

The price for a ton of salt dropped slightly this year, from nearly $48 per ton last year.

The dip in price is an exception to the rule. The price has been steadily climbing, starting at $22.25 in 2000.

ā€œLast year, there was such a huge stockpile,ā€ stemming from the exceptionally mild-winter, added Weidig.
