Flu Shot Season is Here
The Brecksville Human Services Center will be offering flu shots for seniors in October with registration beginning this week.

Summer isnāt officially over yet, but flu season is coming up quickly.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that everyone older than 6 months of age get a flu shot as early in the season as possible. Influenza season can begin as early as October and typically peaks in January or February, the centersā website notes.
The Brecksville Human Services Department will again be offering flu shots for two at-risk groups: seniors and people with diagnosed chronic illnesses. According to a press release from the city, the vaccinations will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Oct. 3 at the . CVS will be administering the shots. Patients with Medicare Part B or a Cigna, United Healthcare, Aetna or federal employee insurance plan will have a $0 co-pay. Otherwise, the shot will cost $31.99.
Appointments are necessary for the Oct. 3 date, and individuals can begin making them on Sept. 5. Call the between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, to make an appointment.
