Got old prescription drugs lying around? Turn 'em in. The police department, along with the school district's Community Awareness and prevention Association, are hosting Operation Medicine Cabinet in an effort to collect unused or expired prescription drugs. The event is slated to take place at Brecksville Public Square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27. "It's a way to clean out your medicine cabinet and turn this stuff in," said Sgt. William Atsberger. "This way, nobody has access to them that shouldn't have access." A lane will be designated at the square — Brecksville and Royalton roads — for motorists dropping off the pills. An officer will be on-hand to collect them. According to a news release, the program "protects our children, our water and our food supplies and decreases prescription drug abuse by making it easier for you to properly dispose of unused or expired medication."
