Man Gets Brake, Gas Pedals ‘Mixed Up’ in McDonald’s Drive-Thru Pile-Up

An 89-year-old Brecksville man caused a three-pile up in the drive-thru lane at the McDonald’s, after he got the brake and gas pedals “mixed up” at around 5 p.m. April 19. 

After his vehicle struck the car in front of him — at about 5 mph — the second vehicle rear-ended a third vehicle in line near the pay-window at the fast-food restaurant’s drive-thru, according to the police report.

The impact pushed the second car out of the drive-thru lane and into the nearby landscaping.

No one was injured in the crash.

The man was charged with operating a vehicle in a negligent manner.
