  1. An iconic Tri-State chili parlor has closed its doors "until further notice". About a dozen employees stated that Chili Time in St. Bernard did not let them know ahead of time about the change. Longtime cook Lisa Robinson said she called out sick on Tuesday and the manager stated he could not fill her shift. "The owners Kim and Chris told him if he did not want to cover my shift they would put a sign on the door in the morning and close the place and that's what they did," said Robinson. It is unclear if the restaurant will reopen. The owners had no comment at the time of press. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  2. Red Cross workers from Cincinnati's sister city, Kharkiv in Ukraine, visited Cincy recently after residents raised $117,000 for the Ukrainian city. Half the city's schools, over 4,000 homes, over 50 medical facilities, and 400 admin buildings have been ruined in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. What's more, over 150k residents have been displaced. Konstantin Bashkirov and Tatiana Zima spoke about how Cincinnati's support saved lives at the link. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
  3. Kroger is expanding its new belted self-checkout to 20 more stores in the Cincinnati area. Kroger says its new high-tech self-scan checkout lanes have been well-received by patrons. The checkout lane uses a belt like you would be a regular cashier in a standard lane, creating more space for all of your items.
