- As a tribute to those who help keep the Cincinnati community safe, the Cincinnati Zoo will offer free admission to first responders this week. From Sep. 11-17, all active fire, police, and safety personnel will have free access to the zoo with a 50 percent discount for up to six family members. Tickets must be purchased at the zoo with a valid photo ID. (WHIO)
- Every weekend throughout October, a domestic duck rescue will bring ducks to local breweries throughout Cincinnati. The Longbottom Ranch kicked off its "Birds & Brews" initiative this past weekend. By bringing the ducks to popular breweries, the ranch's owner Jimmy Longbottom hopes to raise awareness for abandoned ducks. - The cause of a shooting that happened this weekend in downtown Cincinnati remains under investigation. According to officials, a man was critically injured after being shot multiple times in the back along West 6th street between Elm and Race Streets around 1 a.m. He was rushed to UC Medical Center. - The Pub locations across the Greater Cincinnati Area will hold a dedicated space to honor the memory of Queen Elizabeth II during the 10 days of mourning until her funeral. Guests are invited to pay their respects in person or add flowers and notes in her memory. The Pub in Rookwood and Crestview Hills will be honoring the Queen from Friday until Sep. 19. The Pub in Rookwood is located at 2692 Edmondson Road, and the Crestview Hills location is located at 2853 Dixie Highway. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- Two Cincinnati eateries are receiving national recognition among some of the best new restaurants of 2022. Cafe Mochiko and Mid-City Restaurant were both listed in Bon Appetit's 50 Best New Restaurants of 2022. The list was created by contributors who "crisscrossed the country in search of the 50 best new restaurants of 2022," as well as Bon Appetit staff. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
- Oliver’s Toy Chest, a Hamilton toy store, is running a toy drive throughout September to benefit cancer patients at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The donated toys will go directly to in-patient kids receiving cancer treatments or bone marrow transplants at Cincinnati Children’s. (Hamilton Journal News)
