  1. Influenza has hit Cincinnati early this year, and medical officials say it could be a tough season. Roughly 131 people have been hospitalized with the flu throughout Ohio. Dayton has 55 cases so far, and Cincinnati has 35 cases currently. Officials are concerned that high numbers of hospitalizations could cause overflow and add strain to the infrastructure. 2. On Nov. 9, the three newest manatees to join the Cincinnati Zoo will be displayed for the first time. Calliope, Soleil, and Piccolina came to Cincinnati last week from ZooTampa. When they were originally rescued, the manatees were extremely small — Piccolina, the smallest of the three, was only 44 pounds. They have now all reached a whopping 350 pounds, but the manatees need to be at least 600 pounds before they can be returned to the wild. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  3. Downtown Cincinnati is looking to make some big changes to two major streets. Race and Vine could be converted into two-way streets. This is part of an initiative to improve safety in the area. A third-party engineering firm is working on the formal proposal. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
