- The Columbus man who was killed by law enforcement following an attempted breach of the Cincinnati FBI office has been identified. On Friday morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol officially identified the man as Ricky W. Shiffer, 42. Shiffer was killed on Thursday afternoon, ending an hours-long standoff with law enforcement that began after he tried to breach the FBI Field Office in Cincinnati earlier in the day. (WHIO)
- Next month, a Historic D-Day aircraft will be visiting Cincinnati's Lunken Airport. Cincinnati residents will soon be able to tour βThatβs All, Brother," the C-47A Skytrain troop transport that led the formation of 800 other troop transport aircraft over Normandy on Jun. 6, 1944, also known as D-Day. Thanks to the Cincinnati Warbirds Squadron 18, Inc., the aircraft will be staged at the airport from Sep. 2 through 5. The three-day event is open to the public. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
- The 34th annual Black Family Reunion is returning to Cincinnati with new events. From Aug. 18-21, the greater Cincinnati community will come together to celebrate Black culture and reinforce the values of the Black family. The kick-off event preceding the festivities will take place today, Aug. 13. While dozens of BFR celebrations used to take place across the country, Cincinnati is the only major city that still holds the celebration. (Spectrum News 1)
