- Yesterday, Sep. 6, Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval and several council members announced a charter amendment that would eliminate the pocket veto, one of the Cincinnati mayor's special powers. The amendment is expected to garner approval from council and be on the ballot this November. (Subscription: The Cincinnati Enquirer)
- According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at least 24 Ohioans are or have recently become ill from E. coli. The CDC said there is still no definitive source, but many of the affected people have reported eating sandwiches with romaine lettuce from Wendy's restaurants. As of Sep. 6, none of the reported cases have been in Hamilton County, but the location of five of the cases is unknown. (Subscription: The Cincinnati Enquirer)
- Yesterday, Sep. 6, Shawn Pierson was arraigned on a felonious assault charge. Pierson allegedly shot a man in the face on McHenry Avenue near Westwood Northern Boulevard in Cincinnati on Labor Day. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
- Yesterday, Sep. 6, an 18-year-old Cincinnati driver was arrested and charged with six felonies after leading state troopers on a chase from Warren County to Cincinnati. According to Sgt. Stanfield, Trooper Mike Shuler tried to pull over Edward Mumphrey Jr. of Avondale after clocking the Jeep speeding 113 mph, in a 65 mph speed limit zone, on northbound I-75 Monroe near Ohio 63. Mumphrey fled, which began a high-speed chase through three counties. The chase ended at St. Clair Heights Park in South Fairmount, where Mumphrey got out of his vehicle and ran on foot before being caught. As of Sep. 6, he is being held at the Warren County Jail and scheduled to appear in a Warren County courtroom at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. (Fox 19)

The ride plans to raise awareness for Hamilton 7-year-old Rydder Ames and diffuse midline glioma, a rare and aggressive brain tumor that Ames has been fighting since April when he was diagnosed at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. - On Monday, Sep. 5, a statewide high school football poll, released by the Ohio Associated Press, showed that 11 Cincinnati-area teams are in the top 10 of their respective divisions.
