Here are the top four stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. Reports are coming in about a new population of destructive spotted lanternflies that has landed in Cincinnati. These invasive insects were discovered in the Cincinnati area last week. Although the original population appears small, scientists are concerned that is is part of a bigger infestation. Anyone who sees spotted lanternflies should contact the Ohio Department of Agriculture. (FOX19)
  2. If you love scares and haunted houses, then Cincinnati is the place to be! There are a wide assortment of different haunted houses throughout Cincinnati, but only a few are really worth the visit.   3. On Monday night, Cincinnati got is first snow of the season, making it the earliest snowfall ever for the area. Before this, the earliest signs of snow were recorded at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport back in October of 1992. The city is not expected to get any additional snow over the next week, but freezing temperatures will remain a problem for the area. (FOX19)
  4. A Cincinnati nursing student helped save shooting victims despite being shot herself. The nursing student was one of three people shot during a drive-by on Reading Road in Roselawn. She immediately applied a tourniquet to the leg of one victim before performing CPR on the other victim, unaware that she had been shot in the arm. Paramedics arrived and were able to save both victims. The nursing student is currently hospitalized. No one has been arrested in the shooting. (WLWT Cincinnati)
